Church Divinity School Of The Pacific Goes Green With Solar

Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP) of Berkeley, California is the only Episcopal seminary west of the Mississippi. It now is becoming a better guardian of our good green Earth. CDSP is working with American Solar of Sausalito, California, to drastically cut the institution’s carbon footprint.

“At CDSP, we believe that moral accountability in our relationship to the environment is an essential component of quality theological education,” said the Very Rev. W. Mark Richardson, dean and president. “We strive to be good stewards of the resources we have been given, and with this generous lead gift for solar energy, we will be able to reduce CDSP’s carbon footprint and model sustainable living as a Christian community.”

American Solar has been actively engaged in making solar possible for non-profit organizations for over eight years. The work has been expanded to a direct relationship with the Episcopal Diocese of California, and California Interfaith Power&Light.
